Desserts, don't you just love them?
I adore that moment at the end of a good meal when the waiter arrives with the dessert menu.
On Sunday, Papa et Maman came over to our cottage for lunch to celebrate their 64th wedding anniversary and Papa's birthday.
We started with an apéritif ('prendre l'apéritif' in French), with marinated olives and
Mexico was THE place I dreamed about for many years. This was where we were going to enjoy the new chapter in our life. Laptop lifestyle in the sun, here we come!
Fast forward nine years...
Can you picture gambolling in a field of pretty daisies on a warm spring afternoon?
Well, moving house isn’t like that.
Stress-free move? Pffft. Forget it.
Apparently the French are regarded as RUDE by many tourists.
What could be behind this perceived rudeness?
Could something be lost in translation?
You would think that receiving praise graciously is a given. Well, the opposite is true for many, many women. When they are given praise, they feel suddenly uncomfortable, embarrassed, unworthy or downright suspicious of the person praising them.
Do you have a need to be perfect all the time?
And is this need to be perfect stopping you from taking action and succeeding at anything?
I’m guessing that you say “no” a lot. Throughout the day. No.
No, no, no , no!
Without thinking. No. And no. And no again. And no some more.
You want your life to change. You want something different.
You kind of know what it is you want.
But you don’t know what to do. You don’t know how.
You have an idea to do something, some sort of plan, a goal. But, it's still just that: an idea, some sort of plan, a goal.
