I like Victoria - I really do. For sheer hard work and dogged reinvention she is an inspiration.
I am not a fan however of her "petrol pump" chic that debuted recently with creations that looked like they were to be worn solely by women that don't even have to pump their own gas. And I am afraid her latest home furnishing line looks a little too "Rothko" for me.
I am a great admirer of, who I see as the greatest of the American Expressionists, far more emotionally engaging than Pollock and much more genuine than Newman.
Rothko's work inspires many and it seems to me that Victoria has created mini Rothkos albeit in mohair and wool for her blankets, cushions and scarves.
What do you think? I'd love to know.
