![]() Amanda Gormon did more than wow us with her words at the inauguration she wowed us with her style. She is the embodiment of the complete package. Brains, talent, beauty, poise, elegance and style - what more is there? This beautiful Prada coat https://go.magik.ly/ml/14fzy/ has already sold out and I'm not surprised: even though yellow doesn't suit me - I would have tried everything to make this coat work for me given the chance. The exquisite Italian tailoring of the heavy wool fabric would look great over a slim fitting outfit such as a sweater and slacks. The weight gives it such a beautiful drape and structure, I'd wear it all day everyday and those retro style buttons? I adore them. Just because it is cold enough to wear a coat doesn't mean you have to wear bulky clothing underneath. Remember, layering is a much better way to keep your body warm and keep your silhouette trim.

It's supposed to be a harsh winter this year and to keep us snug the fashion world has decided that La Cagoule (Balaclava) is the surprise knitwear hit of the season. Whether it is Gucci or Paco Rabanne on the catwalks, all fashion houses are producing something.
But, you know me. I am only here to suggest to you those fashions from France that have the chance of becoming staples in a French Chic Style Curated Capsule Wardrobe. And that means only those things that are destined to be stylish for years to come get the Marie-Anne Chic Stamp of Approval. So, I will be giving this trend a miss thank you. If you are a skier - all is well and good for the piste but I am afraid the fashion houses are 'taking the piste' if they want us to wear these on the streets. This, on top of face masks - literally - is a fashion miss-step too far. The new Pantone colours for 2021 are out watch my latest video here
When it comes to colours you must, must, must know what colours suit you AND avoid those colours that do not - even if you love those colours. No one did more to define his era than Pierre Cardin. With a futuristic vision of style that bordered on "out there" at times, he nevertheless produced clothes that people rushed to wear. I remember, at one time, a Pierre Cardin sweater was THE statement item to have. Many designers create outfits for the cat walk that do not translate to main-stream fashion. But M. Cardin had the knack of following his creative vision and yet producing popular style. Rare indeed and something modern designers need to study long and hard. My favourite photo of M. Cardin is below and with it, by way of tribute, my interpretation of it. I am wearing my navy stripe suit jacket by Claudie Pierlot one of the few modern designers whose creations are both wearable and stylish in the true Cardin tradition. If anyone knows the photographer of this iconic image please let me know - I have tried to find out but can't. For those interested in learning more about M. Cardin there is a marvellous video on Youtube Here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryua4f-sqnE Merci M. Cardin from you I have learned to follow my own vision. A lesson I will be applying to everything from now on. Many of my viewers have asked me very many questions and, as similar questions keep coming up, and as it is 2021, and I have had so many new subscribers recently, I thought it best to re-introduce myself to you. So tonight, some little known things about me - what gets me leaping out of bed in the morning and what I have in store for you this year. Please, please, please share - you'll see why tonight ;0) go here to watch at 8pm Paris time.

Many people write to me and the most often asked question is "what can I do to improve my style the quickest?"
Other than actually wanting to change you need to have a plan. You have to know exactly what it is you want to achieve. If you aren't planning where your style is going you are doomed to failure. No amount of staring vacantly at YouTube videos is going to help you - no matter which brilliant stylist you are watching (even me) - if you aren't active on your style journey and heading in the right direction. But, which is the right direction? Which way should you be heading? It's down to you. No, that isn't a cop out by me. It is me making you step up to the plate. It is me making you decide for yourself. It is me saying to you - you can't just sit there and let style videos wash over you without you doing some thinking and taking action. Just watching is not helping. I can help - and I have. I have helped thousands of women to improve their style - but each one has had to step up. Each one has had to do the groundwork. Everyone of them committed. Everyone of them said "Yes. I want to change." Each one of the them accepted their own Style Challenge. If you challenge yourself, if you step up, I give you my guarantee - I will be fully behind you. I will meet you more than half way. Anyone who works with me will testify to my full commitment to helping you become the best version of you that you can be. No ifs, no buts. You put in that work and I will be with you every style step of the way. So are you up for your own 2021 Style Challenge? The best way I know to find your direction and set your challenges is by journaling. You can find out all about it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-focA7cU5k So let me know your Style Challenge for 2021 - I can point you in the right direction.
