What To Do When Clothes Get Too tight

Have you eaten a little too much over the Christmas holidays?
Are your waistbands getting too tight over your tummy?
You are not alone in this case, but if your clothes feel a little too tight for comfort, please don't reach for your sweat pants just yet.
Below are a couple of simple tips to appear slimmer at the tummy area:
Picture
  • Divert the eye away from your tummy while attracting it towards another area of your body with detailing. Detailing can be extra pockets, zips, buttons, knots, ties, pleats, frills, gathered fabric or ruching, in fact, any detail that attracts attention. However, use any detailing sparingly, not all at the same time.
  • Ditch low-rise for high-rise trousers. They will act as a corset and hod you in, in all the places.

Do you wish to keep your weight in check, or even lose a few pounds, without dieting?
Here are two simple techniques that French women use for this very purpose:
  • Drink a large glass of water 20 minutes before each meal. This will fill you up and therefore you won't feel too hungry. Drink water during the meal, so that it fills you up. This will stop you from over-eating.
  • Eat smaller portions. An easy way to do this is to use smaller plates. This will trick your brain to think that you have a full plate of food (even though the portion is smaller).

PS: If you...
✔︎ Have been trying to lose weight without success...

✔︎ Are fed up with diets that don't work...
✔︎ Want to lose weight without frustration and hunger...
✔︎ Want to 'diet' without 'dieting'...
✔︎  Want to enjoy your meals and stop the guilt...

...Then check out 'Lose Weight Like The French' Masterclass!

A bientôt

Happy New Year to you, too. These suggestions are great, as is eating mindfully, as also is accepting the wonder that your body is, without relaxing efforts to strengthen it. Nothing succeeds like success!

Drinking water during a meal is not recommended. My nutritionist discourages that because it xan interfere in the digestion process.
I like to eat small portions and have fruit in between meals. High fiber and whole grains also help.
And of course exercise!!!
As we age we need to keep on building muscle to stay strong and protect our bones.
Diverting the eye to a different area and higher waist pants are good though.

I have found that the way I lose weight; is simply by cutting back.
For instance if I eat anything with pastry, I don’t have potatoes but I do have added vegetables. The same with meat or fish, I again cut back on potatoes and up my vegetable intake. All biscuits, cake, chocolate etc are completely off the menu, but I do make sure that I have plenty of fresh fruit plus I took my time.
I first tried this way of losing weight in 2020 when I weighed nearly 82kilos and was heading for an English size 18. and took my time. Unfortunately, in October 2021 I was diagnosed with Right Breast cancer.
My Consultant asked what my weight was and I was able to tell her that I was now 64 kilos. My husband told her that I had gradually been losing weight for 18 months. She then told me that losing weight is one of the best things I could have done as I had basically ‘starved’ the cancer growing inside of me.
I am now stable at 64 kilos and my recent mammogram for my left side came back as normal. I feel so much better and I am now an English size 12….which I haven’t been since Senior School…come this July I shall be 70.
